AEF has become an important event that brought together authoritative foreign and domestic experts. A feature of the current Forum was the coincidence of its time with the beginning of the International Exhibition "Expo 2017". This coincidence underscored the growing role of Kazakhstan in the region, which was mentioned by many invited speakers.
Subjects of the forum, as always, covered the most important issues of today's agenda. The problems of further globalization, which met some resistance at the current stage of development, various ways of globalization were discussed in depth by experts. The report "World in 2050: global megatrends" was presented.
Within the framework of the AEF, the International Transport and Logistics Business Forum "New Silk Way" was held. The draft of the new Silk Road is of strategic importance for Kazakhstan. Over the past 20 years, Kazakhstan has invested $ 26 billion in transport infrastructure. International logistics operators stressed the key importance of Kazakhstan for the revival of the Silk Road. As it develops, China will move production to the border with Kazakhstan, and our country should make full use of the opportunities arising from this.
Within the framework of the forum, the draft of the Strategic Development Plan of Kazakhstan until 2025, elaborated by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was also discussed. Foreign experts expressed their proposals on strengthening certain aspects of this important document. Such a broad discussion of the strategic document creates a new culture of the strategic process in Kazakhstan.
In general, the AEF confirmed Kazakhstan's exit to a new level of understanding of its positioning in the world and the vision of its response to the challenges of our time.
